What we do, and what we provide...
Lde believe that solutions should always be based on what is best for the client, not what is easiest or most lucrative for us.

Although we are not consultants in the accepted sense of the word, we are able to explain the features,
benefits and drawbacks relating to the various options available to our customers and to help them
choose the solution which best meets their needs.
One of Lde's main strengths is monitoring and managing distributed systems- often Lde's network control
centre is aware of a problem before the end user. All our networks are monitored 24 hours a day, seven
days a week, and response times are tailored to customers' requirements ranging from 30 minutes to next
working day for less critical devices.
Lde has worked in partnership with key players in the IT industry such as Digital Equipment throughout
Northern Europe, re-engineering the Ciba network. Lde also worked with Compaq, when The Exchange, an
insurance bureau, moved their site of 108 servers to a new facility 80 miles away with no loss of service.

Working with RMC Aggregates, Lde designed, installed and now supports its UK wide area network from
Cornwall to the Highlands of Scotland. In a business critical environment Lde monitors their network 24
hours a day so that any failures in circuits or equipment are detected immediately and are resolved in
the shortest possible time, thus minimising the effects of downtime on site revenues and profitability.
Total Butler Fuels, part of TotalFinaElf Europe, chose Lde to migrate its Case DCX legacy network to an
IP based infrastructure. This was planned, project managed and implemented with no disruption to the
business and the complete project was carried out in less than a month. We now monitor this network and
can fix a fault anywhere in the UK normally within 4 hours. In addition we have developed an IP based
camera system that allows our duty engineers to monitor vulnerable sites out of normal working hours
and to advise the Depot Manager or Police in the event of any illegal activity taking place. This is
a cost-effective way of maximising the benefits of TBF’s IP wide area network.
This project is part of our substantial expertise in the oil sector providing networking solutions for
distributors such as CPL Petroleum, Scottish Fuels, NWF, EnergyNI, Highland Fuels and Flogas.
When Flogas, part of the DCC Group, acquired Altagas early in 2002 Lde were tasked with the integration
of the legacy Altagas sites, using dial up ISDN and PSTN connections into a true IP VPN. The integration
of these 22 sites was completed in less than a month, including the provision of new Data Circuits.
In November 2002 Flogas acquired the British Gas LPG business from Centrica and Lde undertook the
integration of the 26 Frame sites into the Flogas VPN giving a network with over 70 Nodes in total.
The integration was completed in less than 20 working days including the provision of new Frame circuits
and ISDN backup. Lde are now working with DCC to provide a fully managed mail service throughout the group
companies using Linux based servers from Rockstone Ltd.
Lde work closely with the specialist software house CDS to achieve total solutions, and can draw from
8 years’ system development with Burmah Oil.
We pride ourselves in our ability to provide solutions consistently on time and to budget. This gives
our clients confidence and is the reason why they remain our clients.
